Squito Panoramic Camera Ball

Squito Panoramic Camera Ball

Squito is the first-ever throwable 360 panoramic camera ball. While designer and inventor Steve Hollinger typically doesn’t release footage of inventions until they’ve neared completion, he’s released a few shots of the tennis ball-sized gadget in the hopes of gaining exposure that could encourage collaboration and possibly investment from other brands.

Packing a ton of different position and orientation sensors into the ball, the camera works to stitch together and produce a single smooth image as it hurdles through the air. Designed to work in smoke, fog and darkness, the camera also features night vision and thermal imaging, meaning potential future uses in search and rescue and emergency response. Here’s to hoping that Hollinger gets enough funding to make this a production reality.
